The uniqueness of human fingerprints and the complexity of the fingerprint recognition principle of fingerprint locks make fingerprint locks have higher security performance. Therefore, fingerprint locks are widely used in high-privacy fields such as door locks, mobile phone unlocking, and mobile payment. So, what is the fingerprint recognition principle of the fingerprint lock?

In the field of fingerprint locks, the core is the fingerprint head and fingerprint recognition technology. The current fingerprint heads on the market are mainly optical fingerprint heads and semiconductor fingerprint heads, which represent capacitive fingerprint recognition technology and optical fingerprint recognition technology respectively. These two fingerprint recognition technologies principles are similar, but the way to collect fingerprints is quite different.

First, capacitive fingerprint recognition is more complicated than optical fingerprint recognition. Its principle is to integrate sensors such as pressure sensing, capacitive sensing, and thermal sensing into one chip. When the fingerprint presses the surface of the chip, the internal capacitive sensor The fingerprint image will be formed according to the charge difference (or temperature difference) generated by the peak and trough of the fingerprint, and then matched with the fingerprint library inside the mobile phone to complete fingerprint identification.

Because the capacitive fingerprint recognition technology is more complex, the technology and cost are more expensive, but it also has the advantages of faster recognition speed, higher accuracy, identification of living fingerprints, and the elimination of imitation fingerprints. Therefore, it is also used by high-end fingerprint locks. Brands and mobile phones use capacitors as fingerprint heads.

As for optical fingerprint recognition, the fingerprint attendance machines used at work should be the ones most people encounter. There are also access control, fingerprint locks, and examination identification machines that also use optical fingerprint recognition technology.

This type of optical fingerprint identification mainly includes four functions:

1. The fingerprint module is responsible for collecting fingerprint images.

2. The digital signal processor mainly converts the collected fingerprint images into digital signals.

3. The microcontroller is the control unit of the entire system, where fingerprint verification and output instructions will be performed.

4. The LCD will output the fingerprint verification result.

Take an ordinary optical fingerprint lock as an example. When we put our finger on the optical fingerprint lock, the fingerprint module will collect the fingerprint image through the principle of mirror reflection.

Then the fingerprint image will be converted into a digital signal by the digital signal processor, and then the digital signal will be matched with the fingerprints in the fingerprint library through the microcontroller, and the matching result will be displayed on the LCD. This is how optical fingerprinting works.

Optical fingerprint heads were widely used in the early days because of their low cost and relative durability. However, capacitive fingerprint heads (commonly known as semiconductor fingerprint heads) have better security performance and smaller size, so they have wider applicability. Now more and more devices adopt capacitive fingerprint recognition, the mainstream in the future will also be capacitive fingerprint recognition technology.

What You Need to Know Before Buying a Fingerprint Lock?

Although the smart fingerprint lock is good, if the relevant preparations are not done before buying, it is very likely to lead to the embarrassing situation that the smart fingerprint lock cannot be installed after buying it, which is very embarrassing. Some preparatory work that needs to be done before buying a smart lock will allow you to buy a smart lock without any worries.

Before buying a smart fingerprint lock, do the following:

1. Measure the size of the door

The required dimensions contain guide piece width, guide piece length, door thickness, and guide piece form.

Under normal circumstances, the thickness of the security door is within 40mm-120mm, and different smart locks have different requirements, but ordinary security doors with a thickness of 40mm-60mm, can fully meet the adaptation requirements.

2. Determine the opening direction.

The standard is that people stand outside, the door handle is placed on the left or right side of the door, and the door is pulled outward or pushed inward. From an overall point of view, there are four types of door directions: inward opening, outward opening, inward opening, and outward opening.

In addition to measuring the relevant data, we also need to confirm the opening direction of the anti-theft door, so that it is convenient for the merchant to adjust the direction of the handle of the smart lock in advance before leaving the warehouse, saving the installation time of the installer.

3. Is there an empty hook?

Many anti-theft doors will pop out on both the upper and lower sides of the door lock except for the deadbolt near the lock cylinder. Moreover, the lock body needs to be connected with the lock tongue on the upper and lower sides with the sky hook, so whether the anti-theft door that is about to replace the smart fingerprint lock has an empty hook, it is also necessary to inform the merchant in advance.

Before purchasing a smart fingerprint lock, the above is the preparatory work we need to do. In terms of installation and adaptation, the smart lock is a little troublesome, but this is usually a one-time use. After the installation is successful, you can enjoy a convenient life without keys.
